Regional Pediatric Health Assessment Improving the health status of children is a key component of Dayton Children's mission. To help develop meaningful strategies in this area, Dayton Children’s evaluates the status of our region’s pediatric health through an assessment conducted every three years. Safe Kids Greater Dayton The Safe Kids Greater Dayton, led by Dayton Children's, is one of more than 600 state and local coalitions formed as part of Safe Kids Worldwide. Safe Kids Worldwide is the first national organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury. Speakers Bureau Community education is key to improving the health of our children. Our experts are available to your group, class, business or committee at no charge through our speakers bureau.
POWER POWER (Program of Wellness Education and Resources) is a children's advocacy partnership between the Junior League of Dayton and Dayton Children's, and is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. POWER provides broad community outreach of health and wellness, safety, prevention, and nutrition programs to children and families throughout the Miami Valley.
STAND The STAND (Stopping Tobacco and Nicotine Dependency) program at Dayton Children's will help you stop using tobacco and to choose a more healthy attitude and behavior. Videos, visual aids, monitoring devices and role play makes this interactive program interesting and effective in raising your awareness of tobacco use and the ways tobacco companies get you to use their products.
Lead poisoning - Education, prevention and treatment The Children's Health Clinic cares for pediatric patients from newborns through 17 years of age. The lead diagnostic clinic receives referrals from other agencies as well as physicians seeing children with high lead levels. Services include well-child check-ups, sick visits and diagnostic evaluations.
Making sure the community's children are safe Dayton Children's is one of the community partners serving on Montgomery County's Child Fatality Review Board (CFRB). The purpose of the board is to fully understand how and why children die in Montgomery County in an effort to protect other children.
