Child safety

As the weather gets warmer, safety hazards for your children increase dramatically.

Try this:

  1. Make sure your rules about safety are clear and you consistently enforce them. For example, no child of any age should be riding a bike without wearing a helmet. The consequence for noncompliance is simple - take away the bike for a few weeks.
  2. Be sure to carefully supervise young children near pools, even small wading pools. Teach your child to swim at a young age.
  3. Make sure your child is in a booster seat if he is 4 to 8 years old and is under 4 feet, 9 inches tall. Read about Ohio's new booster seat law.
